Jenn & Sean’s October Cottage Wedding

Jenn & Sean knew exactly the kind of wedding experience they wanted, and they brought together an amazing team of vendors to make it happen. They chose their favourite place for the venue (their family cottage) and invited a small group of loved ones to witness their union. They wanted a relaxed and fun vibe – just an afternoon of lawn games, drinks and partying with their favourite people (and dogs).

We loved how they made every part of the day unique and personal to them. From a first look by the lake with their pup, to a surprise officiant (Jenn’s brother) performing the ceremony. Given that their guest list was small, they were able to allocate their budget to investing in gorgeous florals and the most delicious food. The catering from The Lark was hands down the best wedding meal we’ve ever had.

Intimate cottage weddings truly hold such a special place in our hearts. They allow for the most laid-back yet intentional experience. There’s never any stress or pressure. Everyone feels totally comfortable & relaxed as they enjoy good food and good company.

For their portraits, we snuck away from the cocktail hour and explored a little sandy beach just a couple cottages down. We ran around barefoot and soaked up the most glorious October sunset. Afterwards Jenn & Sean joined their families for a cozy dinner inside the cottage (which was styled to perfection by Alexandra of Baillie David & Co). We had so much fun capturing all the candid moments that unfolded during the dinner & speeches.

Once our time with Jenn & Sean was over, we packed up to make the long drive home. As we were about to leave, Jenn’s mum Allison came out with a giant cookie (part of the incredible cookie cake she baked for their wedding cake) and I (being ultra-pregnant at the time) could have cried happy tears lol. I may or may not still dream about that cookie.
