Zoe & Ian Fairytale Wedding at Kurtz Orchards

We knew Zoe and Ian’s wedding was going to be an unforgettable day from the moment we crossed paths with this sweet couple. They reached out to us when they first started the wedding planning process, with a long email outlining who they were as a couple, their vision for their big day and why they knew we’d be a great fit. We instantly fell in love with them.

Everything they described was music to our ears — and it all came to life on the most perfect September day. Before heading to their venue (Gracewood Estate at Kurtz Orchards) Zoe and Ian knew they wanted to have a private moment together by the lake. Ian arrived at the beach first, and we could literally feel the anticipation & excitement in the air as Zoe made her way down to him. After an emotional first look, they shared private vows with one another with nothing but the sun shining & waves crashing.

It was an honour being able to witness and document such an intimate moment between the two. And it proved to us once again why first looks are so important for couples who want to have private moments together on their wedding day. So much of the day’s celebrations are experienced with others – but that moment by the lake was purely for them.

Once we arrived at Gracewood Estate the festivities kicked off with family & friends arriving for the ceremony. Even Zoe & Ian’s rescue pup Maggie got to be in attendance as their flower girl. After making things official, the newlyweds mingled with their guests in the garden, sipping champagne and playing lawn games.

There are so many reasons why Gracewood Estate is one of our favourite venues, but the top reason being the outdoor reception set up. Long harvest tables are dispersed in the orchard between rows of apple trees, with twinkling lights hanging overhead. It was the perfect setting for Zoe & Ian’s style: rustic but elevated, vintage and slightly boho. Their vision was further brought to life by the amazing Flower Treasures. And after dinner & speeches, everyone danced the night away to a live band.
